Welcome to my learning hub. As a long time fan of presentation expert Garr Reynolds, I was reminded of the benefits of having one site as my web focal point.

My interest in the brain has been long standing, and I have been blogging about it at Neurons Firing since April, 2007. Brain 101 and Anatomy are jumping off points for learning about either of those topics, while professional development, adult learning, conferences about the brain, and various related topics also receive their fair share of page time.

In 2009 I started Laurie'sLens as a place to post pictures to share with my Mom. My lens has since been switched to a wide angle, taking in book reviews, sketches, and a bit of professional development.

And in August, 2009, I began Yoga~Dance~Music~Movement to follow my journey as a yoga teacher.

You can find me on Twitter @brainbits, a place that provides immediacy of information while letting me keep current with people and topics (teaching, learning, yoga, presenting, digital technology, vegan cooking) of interest.

It's Summer 2013 and I have been immersed in the Creative Computing Online Workshop. Stimulating. Challenging. Fun. Playful. Learning. Community. Thoughtful. You get the idea! My resulting project is Scratching with Seniors, a pilot program for seniors (older adults, not seniors in high school ;-)) to share their stories using Scratch.

Also on the summer docket are two workshops in teaching chair (also called seated) yoga to seniors, one at the end of July and the other at the end of August. Come the fall, I will have the opportunity to teach a seated yoga class!
